Some glossary:
- Hue: Color itself, like red, yellow, blue
- Tint: Add white to the hue, make lighter
- Shade: Add black to the hue, make darker
- Tone: Add grey to the hue
Monochromatic
Use one hue and various tints and shades of that original color.
Analogous
Created by choosing hues that are next to each other on the color wheel.
Complementray
Choosing two colors that opposite on the color wheel.
Split Complementary
Created by taking one color then taking the two colors that are either side of what would be the first color’s complementary.
Triadic
Use three color that are evenly spaced around the color wheel.
Tetradic
Pairing two set of complementary color schemes.
